A magical week is coming at Collina San Michele – the juke-campsite in Levanto! On Thursday, April 24, we’ll host an exclusive live concert by our friend and amazing musician Marcella Carboni – the first live music night of the season!
Her electroacoustic harp becomes a voice of contemporary European jazz, blending: original compositions, jazz standards reimagined, and touches of classical music – all infused with the power of improvisation. From pure acoustic vibes to electronic journeys, it’s a performance full of energy and emotion! For this special event, Marcella will play Electra, her next-gen electroacoustic harp by Salvi Harps – bridging tradition and modern sound exploration.
Who is Marcella Carboni?
She’s a harpist, composer, improviser, and educator with a totally unique voice in jazz! With a classical and jazz education, Marcella has collaborated with legends like Bruno Tommaso, Rosario Giuliani, Enrico Intra, and Enrico Pieranunzi, who even wrote music for her. You might have seen her on La7, Sky Arte, or Radio2, performing with icons like Stefano Massini, Federico Buffa, or Virginia Raffaele. Her latest album, MIRADAS (2024), features her long-time trio with Paolino Dalla Porta, Stefano Bagnoli, and special guest Gabriele Mirabassi. She’s also a pioneer of jazz harp education, taking it into European conservatories and publishing the first jazz harp method in the U.S.!
Yes, that’s right – we’re kicking things off with a bang!
Don’t miss this starry night of sound and soul!
