Friends, we’ve got great news for lovers of good wine visiting Collina San Michele Camping during the spring and summer season. This year we decided to enrich our historic selection of Ligurian wines with an equally historic wine produced by our neighbors in Piedmont: Barbera. To introduce it, we’re turning to those who promote the philosophy of this fantastic grape and this great Italian wine better than anyone else: the Brigata Barbera from Milan.
As Giosuè Carducci wrote:
Generous Barbera.
Drinking it makes us feel
as if we were alone at sea,
challenging a storm.
It is with this very spirit that the Brigata Barbera Association was born: a group of enthusiasts devoted to celebrating Italian territories, supporting small producers and preserving traditional food and wine culture, with a special focus on Barbera — “a girl of heartbreaking beauty“. Like them — just like us — we love telling stories in front of a fireplace and a bottle of wine, because wine is not just a product: it’s a way of being together, listening and remembering. “We believe in the true essence of the most authentic Barbera,” they write: land, hard work, fragrant harvests, ancient gestures full of poetry and traditions we don’t want to see fade away. The Brigata Barbera aims to be a living bridge between vineyards and people: a meeting place, a space for sharing and a way to protect ancient knowledge while keeping it alive today.
Exactly what we believe in too, right?
